Creativity Is My Spiritual Practice
Writing and creativity started out as play, but they have evolved into a spiritual practice for me. It is how I choose to meditate. I release it on a page and observe all that I feel without judgment. Through it, I heal and transmute negative thoughts, experiences, or whatever life throws at me.
It’s impossible for me to control everything — so this is my release.
It is my alchemy process. When I’m frustrated and anxious, it brings me back into balance. In this way, I am collecting myself, fully present and what’s uncomfortable, sometimes painful, yet staying in pure positive energy with my inner goddess.
I’ve been reflecting on where all creation begins, and it struck me: in the beginning, there’s always darkness. A void. A formless space, holding nothing but the potential for something new. It’s so much like the womb, isn’t it? A sacred, unseen place where an idea, a spark, or a vision takes shape. Out of that stillness, life begins.
This realization hit me deeply because I’ve come to see artistry as something far greater than just making or doing. It’s embodying the energy of the Creator, the Most High, the God or Goddess within us.
These aren’t just titles. They are the essence of the divine consciousness we carry. When we create, we’re tapping into that source, taking what’s unseen and giving it form.
It’s humbling and exhilarating to think about: every time I write, dream, or imagine, I’m participating in this sacred act of bringing something into existence. It’s a reminder of how powerful, and how connected, we truly are.
An Artist’s Eye
As I continue to develop my writing skills as a form of artistry, I have become increasingly aware of the value of a limitless mindset. Since I was a little girl, many designers, writers, artists, and creatives have intrigued me. I feel we are the most liberated beings in society. While everyone is trying to align to specific paths or pre-assigned categories, rules, and regulations for “success”; the artist’s eye tends to naturally observe or explore new pathways and paradoxes. Employing this freedom in creative ways challenges the collective mindset, which I find very compelling.
Writers, Designers, and Creatives all have their own way of carving their marks on the world. As we allow ourselves to be the conduit to something bigger and more expansive, we must learn what it means to be bold and confident.
I embrace my Goddess complex, as I am the art and the artist. The main character and the author.
I feel this is a state of being that welcomes what is unique, solution-oriented, resourceful, and rare. When I am in my Goddess state, I am self-assured, confident, and aware of my role as the author, designer, and creative force of my life. This transforms all that I have been taught to believe and remains the greatest gift of prosperity and resilience any individual can possess.
