Sundays In the Soil - Vol. 1.2
Take it Easy Like Sunday Mornings | Nourishing Energy (Inner G) Work
The more I lean into this practice of slow, intentional Sundays, the more I realize how much I’ve been conditioned to rush. To measure my wins by how much I get done, to feel guilty if I’m not crossing things off a list. But these quiet little rituals of being in my body, remind me that life isn’t meant to be consumed in urgency, it’s meant to be lived.
I must take my time.
Goddessing in the everyday is presence, so I wrote my To Done ✅ List. Because, this past week has been a whirlwind.
I’m been in the midst of completing my next book, keeping my toddler on track with daily activities and potty training, making nourishing meals, and decluttering around the house. Through it all, I’ve been reminding myself to stay present, to find joy in the small moments, and to let stillness be my guide. I’m taking note of all I’ve already done, as a way to be present and aligned with pure positive thoughts.
Energy work isn’t really work in the traditional sense, even though we call it that. It’s intention and awareness. Inner (g) work feels like noticing, allowing yourself to play, to be, to experiment, to explore, to move mindfully.
Easing Into Your Day
Instead of waking up to screens and caffeine (we wonder why we’re so overstimulated), let’s wake up to just…ourselves. Checking in with our needs to see what would truly nourish us before we feed on mindless habits.
Sunday’s are the best days for me to reset and make that a priority.
Try this…
Before jumping out of bed…stretch like a cat, place a hand on your heart, on your womb, on your belly. Breathe into these spaces. Make space to clear your thoughts and feel your fingers, toes, stretch and yawn. Ask, What would feel most satisfying for your body today?
Hydration with intention. Caffeine immediately puts you in a hydration deficit if you begin your day with it. Before having a coffee or matcha, drink a warm mug of lemon water or herbal tea before anything else. Let it cleanse, let it center you. Sip slowly, enjoy the freshness of the citrus of the subtle notes of the herbal tea and breathe easy.
On Sundays, I don’t like to hold myself to any rigid or militant routines. I like to flow into the morning, arriving to my destination as I feel it’s time.
Today, simply move in ways that feel good, roll out tension, shake off stagnant energy. Fix a delicious breakfast, set a vibe, and love on yourself and your family today.
Your body is talking to you, so listen and guide your cravings.
Feel Held & Supported
What does it mean to heal?
The collective loves to throw this term around, leaving it up to interpretation.
However, you must understand that your soul and the soles of your feet are deeply connected, just like heal and heel are not just homophones, but reflections of the same truth. We find comfort in structure, and when we recognize it all around us, in the rhythms of nature, the cycles of the earth, then we tap into something ancient and alive. Our soul tribe that is beyond the physical.
We awaken and recharge when we bask in the sun, when we press our feet into the soil, when we let the earth remind us that we, too, are always evolving, expanding, and renewing.
So, let’s allow nature to remind us that life will be, despite me.
We are healed as we feel held, so let the earth hold you.
Take the time to take notice of all the ways she always does.
Touch the Earth: Let your bare feet kiss the grass, the dirt, the sand for just a few minutes each day. Notice the initial discomfort (if any), than let a subtle satisfaction take over as you place your feet on solid ground. You have a multitude of divinized ancestors, spirit guides, and benevolent entities waiting for a moment where you are finally present in your body to speak to you beyond language and thought. Take those moments to finally be in receptive mode and receive wisdom.
Notice Abundance: Are wild flowers or medicinal herbs like dandelions growing in your yard, are squirrels busily collecting acorns out back…is evening primrose sprouting up by the front door, what is blooming and bustling around you? Have you noticed the abundance nature has already provided for you without your exertion of effort? Life will be, despite your interference….so, take time to notice and have curiosity about it.
Breathe in the season: Open your windows to invite fresh new energy and clear the air in your home. Smell the season. Notice the scent of fresh cut grass, blooming flowers, or crisp spring mornings and let it wash over you and settle into your bones.
Daily Walks & Instilling Nature’s Language
Another small but meaningful ritual has been strolls as a family. I love to do this before the Texas heat wave takes over. I’ve been teaching my son the names of the wildflowers, butterflies, and the many birds we see on our path. It’s been a daily reminder that presence isn’t just about slowing down for ourselves, but also about seeding this wonder and connection to our babies.
This Sunday, let’s remember: We are not separate from the cycles of nature. We are not soul-less machines meant for endless productivity. We are living, breathing, sensing, creating beings. When we honor that, when we lean into rest, pleasure, presence, we become aligned with the divine.
Let this be a reminder to slow down. To unwind. To calm yourself.
