Recently, I was told I have a “God complex”. I know it was meant as a snide remark, but I lightheartedly accepted it as a compliment. Now I proudly own it as a “goddess complex”, because it’s ultimately a declaration of divinity. It’s a confidence I wear, and an awareness of all that I consciously co-create. I honor it as evidence of my connection to the divine feminine energy that I feel creation itself was birthed from.
But, what is a God(dess)?
I feel that a goddess is a dynamic vibration of many forces all at once. She is compelling, passionate, alluring, contradicting, confident, and vulnerable. Most of all, she attracts and interacts as if her life is a must-see movie where she is the breakout star.
Being in my “goddess” is a state of mind, a powerful frequency, and an alluring aura. I can destroy and transform old, stagnant energy with chaotic unpredictability. However, I can also re-emerge with a creative energy that brings forth new experiences that are truly exhilarating, such as loving relationships, works of art, beautiful surroundings, and the sweetness we may call the “honey” of life. This is the dual power of the goddess complex, demonstrating the healer and the destroyer within, and it’s complimentary and contradictory aspect.
How to Live Divine
Achieving an inner-state of goddess energy has taught me to transmute the restrictive concept of time, and embrace the inevitable order of the universe as it is. This is about living irreverently beyond conventional standards. A divine order will find a way to harmonize with cosmic chaos to create, evolve, and grow life. This force by nature is cyclical and feminine. She travels on her own time and at infinite speed.
As I own who I am, I see it reflected in who I have been all along. Even in tumultuous upbringings, I’ve always been enamored with anything that allowed me to create, visualize, and transform. My first loves were all artistic forms of expression. I was naturally drawn to design and create ultimate visions for myself. It was inevitable as soon as I learned to pick up a pen or pencil, that I began drawing on everything.
Creative expressions such as art and writing were my gateway to transcending life’s struggles and mental anguish. It gave me freedom and a connection to something bigger than me. Learning how to sketch and paint, I was taught patience and calmness. I adopted a technique of only seeing shapes and lines, tones, and colors rather than an overwhelming big picture as I created.
I learned to heal from a traumatic childhood, when I saw myself as an improvement of the design and sent here to make my own masterpiece. My parents’ lives were a referential piece, and not necessarily something to copy and repeat as my own.
With this awareness, I could shift my mind into seeing what is there without having such an anxious and heavy heart. I gradually eliminated and dispelled limiting beliefs, perspectives, ideals, or visualizations for my life. It wasn’t always easy and at times I had to put up a fight, distance my self for a while, or limit communication in order to do so. But it was important to me that I only allowed myself to keep what served me well as I redesigned my masterpiece and created a world of my own.
After many trials and tribulations, I’ve gained a more positive perspective, and a mental shift into a higher goddess mentality.
The Goddess Mentality
As I create, I use my highest vibrations, just as a Goddess would. She feels, she sees, she senses, and she receives. She even creates beauty out of pain. Bringing heaven on earth is how she remains balanced. She is a natural Alchemist.
If I don’t like what I see, I change it.
When inspired, I’ll make it.
Draw the lines, tones, colors, and perspectives that would be my own creation.
It’s only up to me to shift my mind and expose my heart. I’m happy to be the goddess of my world.
